Cllr Arthur Mandry

Hill Head Ward

I was born and educated in London and served for 9 years in the Royal Navy. In 1963 I joined Hampshire Constabulary and retired in 1993 with the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent and Head of CID.

I was elected to Fareham Borough Council in 1995 and since then have served on all major committees and as Chairman of the Planning and Transportation Committee, Vice Chairman of the Community Safety Partnership and as Deputy Leader of the Council.

After re-organisation in 2002 I was appointed as the Executive Member for Planning and Transportation and subsequently as Executive Member for Public Protection in which post I still serve.

Locally, I am a Trustee of the Crofton Community Centre, The Cremer Trust and Chairman of the Hammond Memorial Hall Trust.  I am also Vice-Chairman of the Stubbington Fayre Committee.

I strongly believe in the enforcement of law and order, freedom of choice for the individual and the minimum of bureaucracy.
