Cllr Peter Edgar

Hampshire County Councillor for Leesland and Town

Peter was a longstanding member of Gosport Borough Council with many years experience.  He is also a Hampshire County Councillor.  Peter believes that by serving both Councils he was able to help the developing process of close cooperation and partnership to deliver services without duplication and in a cost effective way.

There are many examples of successful County Council projects that benefit Gosport  but some examples are the millions of pounds being invested in Gosport schools and education facilities including CEMAST College, the investment of £750,000 in the multi-million pound Gosport Discovery Centre, the very successful rapid bus project, and the continuing improvements to access to Gosport at Newgate Lane and the forthcoming construction of the Stubbington bypass.

Peter has also been very pleased to be able to help dozens of local organisations and good causes through his Hampshire County Council Members' Devolved Budget Scheme.

A great deal of time is spent by councillors dealing with the concerns of local residents. Peter really enjoys meeting local people and please contact him if you feel he may be able to help with a local problem, or if you wish to discuss the policies of Hampshire County Council.
