Grange Ward
Maggie Morgan was first elected to represent Grange in 2012 and since then has worked extremely hard for the residents of Grange and Gosport. Maggie has served as a member of the Community Board and is Vice Chairman of the Licensing Board. Maggie holds regular surgeries with Grange’s other ward Councillor, Tony Jessop, in Tesco to understand the issues that Grange residents are facing.
In the Grange Ward Maggie has ensured the concerns of the residents are supported and actioned when applicable on issues such as: boundary queries, housing issues, ensuring works are carried out by property and building companies, lighting, littering and vandalism, overgrown hedges/plants, security and theft issues and developing projects that would enhance Grange such as the Garden Centre, to name a few.
Maggie Morgan is also Gosport’s Youth Champion. She has made sure young people were involved with recreation developments such as the BMX pump track, Skate park improvements and supported grants for developing youth and community development, especially with the Rowner Community Trust.
Maggie Morgan fully supports the Conservatives who have been in control of Gosport for the past six years recognising all they have achieved over that period. Since 2010 they have put their plans into action and have delivered many projects throughout the Borough with a record of achievement such as the ferry pontoon, leisure centre, eclipse bus service, new hotel, Daedalus enterprise zone, Splash Park, Rowner regeneration into Alver village and high street improvements but there is much more to do. bringing investment, jobs, regeneration and conservation to Gosport. Investment has been achieved with many national and international companies coming to Gosport, bringing with them jobs and boosting the local economy. We have seen the demolition of the concrete jungle and the building of hundreds of new family homes in the Alver Village, providing a better quality of life for local people.
Being a densely urbanised area it is important to keep our green and open spaces. That is why we will continue to oppose building on those areas, for example Stokesmead and the wildlife area beside Forton Lake. We will carry out further refurbishment of local areas such as Stanley and Bridgemary Parks. We will continue to develop the Alver Valley Country Park to act as a green lung for all to enjoy.
Four years ago, you gave Maggie Morgan your support to improve the quality of life of Grange residents. Last election Maggie Morgan is again asked for your support so that we can continue completing Alver Village, continue to improve the infrastructure of Gosport and bring more investment into the town. As Gosport Youth Council’s youth champion she will also work hard to improve facilities for younger people, such as the BMX Track, Skate Parks and the Alver Valley Country Park.
Working together we can make Gosport and Grange a better place to live.
