Residents, businesses and community groups are invited to comment on two proposed changes to the draft Gosport Borough Local Plan 2042, as part of a six-week public consultation.
The proposed changes to the plan related to two specific areas:
- Rowner - the Council is proposing to remove the Rowner policy, and instead the future priorities for the area will be identified by the resident-led Pride in Place Rowner programme.
- The Criterion site - proposal to remove the leisure allocation for the building, to give the Council greater flexibility to decide on the best future option for the empty site.
It is important to note that comments can only be made on these two matters covered by the addendum, and not any other parts of the Local Plan, which went out for consultation earlier this year.
Once additional feedback on the two items is received, the Council will submit its Local Plan for independent examination.
Councillor Zoe Huggins, Leader of Gosport Borough Council, said:
"The Local Plan will help shape where key sites for housing, employment and leisure should go, and the areas that need to be protected from development.
