Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, has welcomed the news that the Gosport War Memorial Staff employed by Compass Medirest as domestic and porter employees will receive monies they are owed.
Earlier this month Caroline wrote to the Chief Executive of Compass Group, to query why the staff had not been paid the monies they were owed.
In a response received from Compass today they advised that “The agreement made by the previous employer of these individuals, (which was that their basic pay rate would be paid in line with Agenda for Change), was not formally recorded and, therefore, we did not have the information required to process this change.”
They further stated “We have notified the employees concerned that this pay increase will be processed and back-dated and will be included within their salaried payment on 1 February 2019.”
Commenting Caroline said:
“I am really pleased that following my contact with Compass, these employees will receive the money they are owed.
Once made aware, Compass acted quickly to rectify this issue and I am delighted that this matter has been resolved in a timely manner.”
