Residents are being invited to share their views on new housing policies designed to protect private renters.
Gosport Borough Council has launched an eight-week public consultation on two new policies that will guide how the authority enforces housing standards in the private rental sector, following new powers granted under the Renters' Rights Act 2025.
The policies are designed to clarify how the council will handle complaints, outline landlord responsibilities, protect tenants and take enforcement action where necessary.
Councillor Zoe Huggins, leader of Gosport Borough Council, said: "Everyone deserves to live in a safe, secure and well-maintained home.
"These new policies are designed to help the Council use new national powers to protect private renters, work with responsible landlords, and take action where standards aren't met.
"We welcome feedback so we can be sure the policies are clear, fair and effective."
The consultation is open until September 11.
