The Mayor of Gosport, Councillor Chris Carter, recently held a Charity Golf Day at Lee-on-the-Solent Golf Club where over £400 was raised for his Mayoral Charities.
Such an event had not been held for many years so although the attendance was a modest 25 golfers, those who took part had a most enjoyable day where even the weather was kind.
“We all had a wonderful time with the day finishing with a very nice meal, where events of the day and funny moments were swapped,” said the Mayor Councillor Chris Carter. “But the worthy winners were the team of David James, who just happens to be the Captain of Lee-on-the-Solent Golf Club, Trevor Sharp and John Wheeler. Who knows with a bit more practice perhaps this could become an annual Mayors challenge.”
The money raised will go towards the Mayors Charities which this year are:- The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help and Local Gosport Causes.
