Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, is today delighted to publish the inspiring biographies of two Gosport apprentices.
Chloe, 19, is a laboratory technician at Wickham Laboratories based just off Fareham Road. As part of her apprenticeship, she is carrying out highly technical testing to ensure the safety of certain medical devices. At the same time, Chloe is studying for a level 3 NVQ Diploma in Laboratory Science, as well as the second year of her Level 3 BTEC in Applied Science.
Joshua Barry, 20, is a Mechanical Manufacture Engineer at Qinetiq. Over the last four years he has completed an apprenticeship at Qinetiq, which enabled him to gain experience operating a variety of machinery. He has now been taken on full time and works as part of a close-knit team, carrying out a number of different roles.
Commenting, Caroline said:
“The sectors in which Chloe and Joshua work require highly technical skillsets as well as specialist knowledge. Doing an apprenticeship has clearly prepared them well by providing them with hands-on experience as well as the opportunity to learn necessary knowledge at college. I am delighted to hear about their solid progress towards promotion.”
