“EVERYONE IS A WINNER!” SAYS MP

Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, has today presented 33 of the schools in her constituency with a share of the £10,000 prize she won in Parliament. All 37 schools in the Gosport constituency were invited to attend the presentation with only 4 choosing not to take part.  As a result all the schools who attended will receive £303.00.

The Gosport MP attended an event in Parliament to learn more about Digital Currency where she entered a prize draw for the winning Member of Parliament to donate to local schools.

Previous winners of the annual event have arranged a competition among local schools and given the money to the winners.  However, Caroline has decided instead to share the good fortune by dividing the £10,000 amongst the schools that attended a presentation ceremony today at Brune Park.

Commenting Caroline said: “Every time I visit a school, the pupils and the staff are always excited with a project they are working on but could always do with a little bit extra money to help make these a success. By sharing it equally everyone is a winner!”

Mahir Magudia, Managing Director of the Digital Currency Foundation which awarded the prize, said: “We support education projects all over the world and we are delighted to be in Gosport to support local schools. We are passionate about education, improving access, and we can’t wait to see how the schools use the money.”

Paul Lane, Chair of the GFM Education Trust also said: “The GFM Education Trust is really pleased to be able to host this event at Brune Park and we are very appreciative of the contributions being made. They allow us to continue supporting children academically and socially, both within the trust and the local community.”
