CAROLINE RAISES AWARENESS FOR DIABETES

Caroline Dinenage, MP for Gosport last week joined volunteers from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and staff from Novo Nordisk and Roche to raise awareness of the increasing prevalence of diabetes in the UK. Diabetes, in particular type 2 diabetes, is a significant and growing health issue, affecting over 382 million people worldwide – and IDF figures show this could rise to 592 million by 2035.

CAROLINE SUPPORTS WEAR A HAT FOR BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH

Local MP Caroline Dinenage will be wearing a hat made by the children at Alverstoke Infant School to all of her meetings on Friday in support of Brain Tumour Research. WearAHatDay was created by Brain Tumour Research, and is the UK's largest and most famous national brain tumour awareness and fundraising campaign.

CAROLINE URGES LOCAL PEOPLE TO NOMINATE GOOD CAUSES IN GOSPORT

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage today urged local people to nominate good causes in the Gosport area for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund. The community fund provides grants to support local good causes across England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, and for the first time people across the country are able to nominate their own community groups.

CAROLINE LAUNCHES SCHOOL SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

Local MP Caroline Dinenage joined EDF Energy and the British Science Association in the House of Commons this week to launch a new initiative: The Great EDF Energy Experiment. The project aims to get children, their parents and teachers to participate in a series of live mass participation experiments that address real scientific questions, and is designed to inspire children in the Gosport area into science.

CAROLINE URGES LOCAL PEOPLE TO APPLY FOR ENTREPRENEUR SCHEME

Local MP Caroline Dinenage today encouraged local people keen to set up or expand their own business to apply for the 2014/15 intake of Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneurs. The scheme is now open until Thursday 3rd April, and all you need is a good idea!
