In Gosport, the number of people claiming the key out of work benefits has fallen by 671 since 2010, representing a 50% drop. Today’s figures also show that 400,000 more young people are in work, compared with 2010.
Commenting, Caroline said:
‘It’s incredibly encouraging to see that more people in the UK are in work than ever before. We’ve come a long way, both locally and nationally, since 2010, and while there is certainly more to do these latest figures are to be celebrated.
'Employment is up by 125,000 over the past three months alone, and full time employment is at a record high. I’m really pleased that our strong economy is enabling more families to share in the benefits of stable employment and a regular pay packet.’
