Caroline Dinenage has put her support fully behind calls for a referendum on the EU.
Caroline voted in favour of a motion put before Parliament today that moved to have a national referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union.
Although the motion was ultimately defeated, Caroline has pledged to continue working to ensure that the people have a voice on Europe.
She said:
“I believe it is high time that the British people had a say on our relationship with the EU. For too long, successive Governments have denied the public the right to voice their views on this issue. As the Member of Parliament Gosport, I know what an important matter it is for my constituents, and it is only right and fair that I convey their strong feelings on this issue when I vote today.”
