Local MP Caroline Dinenage met with local carers in Westminster this week. The event coincided with the start of Carers Week 2011 and allowed Caroline to learn about issues and problems affecting her constituents.
This year’s theme is entitled ‘The True Face of Carers’ and calls for greater recognition for the diverse range of people who have caring responsibilities. The work they carry out is vital for their families, friends and for their communities.
Caroline said: “This has been a great opportunity to hear first-hand about the lives of the carers who give so much to their families and to our local community. As an MP, I aim to influence and to bring about real change for carers in Gosport and will continue to raise their concerns in Westminster.”
