Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, is working with Ministers at the Department for International Trade to help local businesses in her constituency get involved with exporting.
Caroline has enrolled the Gosport Constituency on the coveted Parliamentary Export Programme (PEP) in partnership with the Department for International Trade. This will see a Gosport exporters event, where business owners can take part to learn more about the benefits of exporting and hear direct from experts, take place in the next couple of months.
Last week, Caroline met International Trade Secretary Liz Truss to discuss the progress of UK continuity deals. In under two years the UK Government have agreed trade deals with 63 countries plus the EU, that account for £897 billion of UK bilateral trade. This is unprecedented and no other country has ever negotiated so many trade deals simultaneously.
Commenting, Caroline said:
‘There is fantastic work happening at the Department for International Trade and I am absolutely delighted Gosport has a place on the Parliamentary Export Programme.
This has been a difficult year for our local businesses, however with the vaccine being rolled out successfully in our area and trade deals being signed at a record pace, we will hopefully see a period of certainty to help our businesses flourish.
I am calling on all Gosport businesses to join these free events and I will work to keep everyone as closely updated as possible over the next few weeks.’
