Although Parliament may have taken a break for the Summer recess Caroline’s been busy attending events throughout Gosport. Here are just a few things that Caroline has taken in recently:
Last weekend Caroline enjoyed a great day out at the Beryton Road Residents Association Funday. The fantastic weather ensured everyone present had a lovely time, with lots of interesting stalls and wonderful activities keeping the whole family entertained.
After being given a tour of the park Caroline took in some fantastic performances by local community groups and tried her hand at a few activities too.
This was followed by a visit to the Royal Navy Memorial on Southsea Common, where Caroline attended a wreath laying service to honour the veterans of the Second World War Arctic Convoy.
The event commemorated the brave efforts of the 3,000 sailors and merchant seamen who took part in this daring campaign. The solemn ceremony was well attended by veterans and forces families from across the area and was a fitting way to mark the 70th anniversary of a truly incredible feat.
With more events “pencilled in” to the diary before the end of the Summer break Caroline continues to work hard for Gosport despite Parliament’s recess.
