Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has pledged her support to the fight against breast cancer by taking part in Breast Cancer Campaign's biggest fundraiser, 'wear it pink' day.
Breast Cancer Campaign aims to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research to understand how the disease develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cures. Over the last 10 years the 'wear it pink' initiative has raised a staggering £23 million for this pioneering research.
Speaking in support of the campaign, Caroline said:
"Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and accounts for nearly one in three of all cancers in women. With around 50,000 women and 400 men in the UK being diagnosed with the disease each year, it is vital that we do all we can to support Breast Cancer Campaign's fundraising efforts.
I am delighted to be promoting this initiative, and I hope as many people as possible, both in Gosport and across the UK, wear it pink and donate £2 to this fantastic cause."
This year, 'wear it pink' day will take place on Friday 25th October. To register for 'wear it pink' and receive your fundraising pack, visit www.wearitpink.org or call 0800 107 3104.
