Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, and her small Parliamentary team have pledged to walk 60km each to mark Movember.
Movember is a month long, annual event during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues - such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. Movember has funded over 1,250 men's health projects globally.
Caroline, a former Health Minister, and her team will be walking 60km each - a total of 180km. This is 60km for the 60 men we tragically lose to suicide each hour, every hour across the world. In addition, Caroline is encouraging others to get involved in a range of activities, and share their own Movember plans with her.
Commenting, Caroline said:
‘Like millions of others, many of my male friends and family members have been affected by these issues, and prostate cancer claimed the life of my beloved grandad. Early diagnosis of cancer and protecting mental health are both significant priorities for the Government. So this year I’m saying you don’t have to grow a mo’ to get involved in raising awareness!’
Movember runs throughout the whole of November.
