Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, has today met with representatives from Gosport Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and the Solent LEP to discuss potential projects to bring real benefits to the Gosport Constituency through the new Levelling Up Fund.
On March 3rd, as part of the Budget, the Chancellor announced that Gosport could benefit from up to £150,000 in new infrastructure projects – part of the £4.8 billion Levelling Up Fund.
The Fund aims to improve infrastructure across the UK and while it is open to every local area, it is especially intended for areas such as Gosport, Hill Head, Stubbington and Lee-on-the-Solent where it can make the biggest difference to local residents.
Bids are submitted through local authorities who can submitted projects that will have a visible impact on people and the wider community.
Caroline commented:
“It was great to speak today with local leaders from Gosport Borough Council and Hampshire County Council, as well as the Solent LEP, to discuss potential future bids which can bring real benefits to our area.
“The Levelling Up Fund provides the opportunity to invest in our infrastructure and help the Gosport Constituency build back better. I look forward to working with our local authorities and supporting their bids.”
