“Hampshire residents, including those in my constituency, now have a fantastic one-stop shop to get all the information and advice they need regarding care and wellbeing. This website and app both supports local people living independently and as a result takes pressure off NHS staff and resources.” Caroline Dinenage MP
Hampshire County Council has announced that residents can how download a new app that provides 24/7 local information, with or without internet access, about care and support. The information ranges from advice on mental and physical health, support for carers and equipment for those living at home. It also includes a directory of helplines, charities and local services, a directory of registered home care agencies and care and nursing homes in Hampshire.
Both the website and app have been developed with Southampton University and is being used by health professions to refer patients to non-medical services and voluntary organisations.
Caroline commented:
“It is important that people can retain their quality of life and live independently at home. The app and website provide vital information and support that is tailored to the local area and residents, helping carers get the advice that they need. I am delighted to hear that it is being used by GPs, nurses and charities to promote healthy, active communities that do not need to rely on NHS resources to maintain their wellbeing.”
The website can be found at https://www.connecttosupporthampshire.org.uk/home or to download the app simply search ‘Connect to Support Hampshire’ in the App Store or Google Play.
