Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage hosted a group of local school children and their families at an event last night to announce the winner of her Christmas card competition.
Out of over 100 entries, Lili Kurzfeld of Haselworth Primary School was awarded first place and her design has already been printed on over 200 cards. Highly commended were Harvey Pratt and Emily Chandler of Newtown Primary School and Jack Harrop of Holbrook Primary School.
Speaking after the event, Caroline said:
"It was lovely to meet the winner of my Christmas card competition and I was delighted that so many children brought their families along to the event to see their designs on display.
Gosport's school pupils certainly do not lack artistic talent and I'm sure there are great things in store for many of our budding young artists!"
The competition was open to pupils from primary schools across the Gosport constituency. Caroline was joined by Cllr John Beavis (Mayor of Gosport), Mark Waldron (editor of The News) and Andy Wing (prolific local artist) to judge the entries.
The event took place at Gosport Discovery Centre where all competition entries will be on display until Monday 9th December.
